what's the latest on the investigation? >> reporter: where he are in the stoddard terrace neighborhood and this area has undergone positive change among the past couple of years, among the changes, a community of row houses, townhouses, has sprung up. but early this morning, the scene of a fatal shooting. i want to set the scene. take a look. an apartment at 316 ridge road. we have a wooded ridge beyond that. and that's where investigators are focusing their attention. the scene early this morning. 2:16, police reported to this area for the call of sounds of gunshots. they found a male dead in the parking lot behind us there. not much information about the victim. he may be in his teens, but not yet confirmed. investigators have been on the scene, trying to piece together whatever evidence they can to

get more information and a lookout at this point. we don't have a lookout or any sort of suspect information. again, people who live in the building are not being able to get to their parking lot today because of the investigation which continues and more on this as it becomes available. live in southeast. derek ward, news 4. d.c. police say a teenager is responsible for violent attacks on two women in ten days. police arrested 19-year-old demarco myles, charged with sexually assaulting a woman in her howard university dorm room friday afternoon, and he is facing charges for stabbing and trying to sexually assault a woman at the rhode island row apartment complex last week. that woman, still in the hospital with serious injuries. now to decision 2012. just two days to go. less than 48 hours until polls open across the country. time running out for president owe became kr and mitt romney, kicking their campaigns into

a traffic alert this morning. ongoing work on the baltimore-washington parkway as crews try to finish replace braj at west nursery road. the brand new bridge was wheeled in, shutting down the northbound lanes. the $6 million project ran into problems two weeks ago when some of the load shifted, shutting down the roadway. next weekend, crews will shut down the southbound lanes to complete the work.

deep d.c. is the largest organization to fund lung cancer research. and i want to support those who are honoring someone they lost and all those walking for people who cannot be here today. >> sarah, tell us more about longevity and breathe deep d.c. does for families and people like you. >> absolutely. longevity is an organization simply based on spreading awareness and raising lung cancer money for research. research so important and imperative for this disease, and longevity supports all of those funds to do so. >> sarah, we know you have your family out there with you today. and other victims and survivors who have their families supporting them as well. what's it like to see a big crowd come together for the krause so personal to you? >> this is just thirilling. my team alone this year is 50 people. we after the last four years have raised $1 million for lung cancer research.

dry today, tomorrow, and for election day. no excuses from the weather department to miss going to the election and voting. moisture along the gulf coast. and energy in the northern branch of the jet stream is bringing snow to the dakotas today. that energy will dye down, scoop up the moisture off the gulf coast and form a coastal storm as we get to wednesday, thursday time frame. it will need to be watched very closely. in the short term, a little coastal storm number one, not bothering us as it heads out to sea. clear skies, cold nights and chilly days. a feeling of december around here the next couple of days. high pressure off the coast of new england and a little bit of a blocking pattern and as a result. a low impact for rain here by early in the day on wednesday. but then we go to a medium impact for wind and rain around here for wednesday night, and an opportunity out west of the blueridge, we have a snow with a question mark behind it there, this will have to be watched

charlie rose: will you endorse president obama? colin powell: yes. when he took over we were in one of the... worst recessions we had seen in recent times... close to a depression. and i saw, over the next several years, stabilization... come back in the financial community. housing is starting to pick up. the president saved the auto industry. and the actions he's taken with respect to... protecting us from terrorism have been very, very solid. and so, i think we ought to keep on the track that we are on. president obama: i'm barack obama and... i approve this message.
